Eligibility Requirements
In order to receive a grant, the applicant needs to be a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization based in the United States. Organizations advancing youth education (K-12) and faith-based goals are of particular interest to the foundation and will be given priority.
While there are exceptions, the foundation's primary geographic area of interest is Florida, with a focus on central Florida. There is also an interest in areas of New Jersey and Missouri.
As of September 30, 2024, the foundation's assets were over $7,000,000. The average grant award range is $10,000 - $15,000

Two grant cycles each year
The Brotherton Foundation makes distributions twice each year: April and October. The foundation receives grant applications year-round. However, the following dates are deadlines to be considered for each respective distribution:
April distribution -- Grant application needs to be in by March 1st.
October distribution -- Grant application needs to be in by September 1st.
